According to Daily Trust, the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) is urging the Nigerian government to swiftly resolve the longstanding minimum wage issue to prevent potential violent protests, citing recent unrest in Kenya as a cautionary example. According to CCC Chairman Maj.-Gen. Christopher Olukolade (Rtd), "It's crucial that we address these issues promptly. Delaying could exacerbate tensions and lead to unnecessary unrest."

Olukolade emphasized the need for dialogue and consensus-building to effectively manage these issues. "We must prioritize national unity and stability," he said. "It's imperative that all parties involved come together to find a peaceful resolution. We cannot afford to let disagreements escalate into crises."

He also cautioned against adopting disruptive protest methods seen elsewhere, stating, "Such tactics are not in line with Nigeria's democratic values. We need a measured approach to resolving conflicts, particularly regarding sensitive matters like the minimum wage and regional disputes."

In conclusion, Olukolade stressed the importance of proactive and strategic leadership. "We must navigate these challenges carefully to safeguard our unity and promote national development," he emphasized.
