The National Police Service (NPS) issued a statement today, prohibiting all Kenyan residents from participating in the unauthorized purchase, manufacture, ownership, and sale of firearms and ammunition.

The National Police Service (NPS) has stated that the prohibition, which takes effect immediately, is solemnly aimed at reducing unauthorized ownership, sale, and manufacture of firearms and ammunition in the country.

The National Police Service (NPS) has instructed all Kenyans living inside the country's enormous borders to report any persons producing or selling firearms to the nearest police station for urgent action.

"The service would like to caution members of the public from engaging in unauthorized purchase, possession, manufacture, and sale of firearms and ammunitions and instead report and criminal activities to the nearest police station or through our toll-free numbers; 999,911,1,112 or FichuakwaDCI 0800722203," indicated the National Police Service (NPS).
