Former Nandi Hills MP Hon. Alfred Keter has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, stating that Kenyans are united against him and his agenda, and discounting the idea of Ruto rigging the 2027 election.

Keter responded to Rarienda MP Hon. Otiende Amollo on his X account, challenging his claim that Ruto will most certainly steal votes in 2027 and subsequently violate court orders.

"He won't be able to rig," Keter announced. "The margin will be significantly higher." He is going to lose terribly because Kenyans will not tolerate any of his lies, deception, corruption, blackmail, propaganda, or bottom-up foolishness. "It will be an overwhelming triumph over Kenya Kwisha."

Keter's comments come after Ruto vowed to ignore court judgments declaring the housing levy unlawful. The government imposed a levy in 2023 with the purpose of removing 1.5% of each employee's and employer's gross wage to fund the affordable housing initiative. Several parties, however, filed legal challenges to the levy, arguing it was unjust, illegal, and unconstitutional.

Ruto has been accused of undermining the government and its constitution. He has clashed with current Prime Minister Raila Odinga, a longtime ally. In addition, he has faced criticism for his "bottoms up" economic ideology, which, although attractive to the poor and young, has been dismissed as a populist dream by those who oppose it.

With the backing of several regional leaders and past presidents, Odinga poses a serious danger to Ruto, who is seeking a second term in power. The 2027 election is expected to be fiercely competitive, with both factions seeking for the support of Kenyans in the majority.
