A report was sent to me that a former Governor and sitting senator has £200m in offshore islands- Obono-Obla

Former chairman of the Special Investigation Panel under ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari has alleged that he received a report about an ex-governor and a current senator that has 200 million pounds which is deposited in offshore islands.

Okoi Obono-Obla who made such allegation during an interview with CHANNELS TV host, Seun Okinbaloye few hours ago, alleged that the banks in Nigeria have recovered over 38 trillion Naira from stamp duties over the years, but they are yet to remit the money to the Federal Government's account.

Speaking further, Okoi Obono-Obla revealed that he was investigating a case involving a house that was bought by the permanent secretary to the former Chief of Defence for the sum of 800 million Naira, adding that the permanent secretary made such purchase under the name of her 8-year-old son and he was confronted during such investigation.

Okoi Obono-Obla then revealed that a report was sent to him that a former governor and sitting senator has 200 million pounds in offshore islands, adding that he sent copies of such report to former president, Muhammadu Buhari and the attorney general but nothing was done about it.

In his own words, Okoi Obono-Obla alleged that;

"This man has over 200 million pounds in offshore islands, a former governor and sitting senator. A report was sent to me, I sent one to the president and I sent one to the attorney general but nothing was done about it."
