Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has reacted after police allegedly opened fire on protesters in Kenya.

According to THE GUARDIAN, the police opened fire on protesters outside Kenya’s parliament after they attempted to storm the building.

Reacting to the report, Oby Ezekwesili urged the President of Kenya, Williams Ruto not to use brutal force on the protesters. In the post that she shared on her official X handle on Tuesday, she said rather than using force on the protesters, it is better to engage them in a problem solving dialogue.

She said using force on citizens who have had enough of the adverse impact of policies and governance is not the best.

Here is what Oby Ezekwesili wrote on her official X handle;

"Dear President Williams Ruto, please pull back from the use of force against your citizens who are protesting public policy. It is time to engage them in a problem-solving dialogue".
