The Federal Government is set to distribute N25,000 monthly across 15 million households nationwide as part of measures to minimise the level of economic hardship faced by Nigerians.

The policies of the current administration has subjected many Nigerians to suffer an economic crisis with soaring inflation, leaving many people struggling to afford food. Many citizens have taken to the streets to register their displeasure with Tinubu’s style of leadership.


Edo APC guber candidate, Okpebholo seeks reconciliation; praises Tinubu, Oshiomhole

Ahead of the September Governorship election in Edo state, Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on members and aspirants to unite ahead of the crucial polls.

Okpebholo in his acceptance speech, also paid special tributes to President Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the ruling party, Abdullahi Ganduje, APC leader in Edo, Adams Oshiomhole, and Edo people for standing on the side of equity and justice.

Chairman of the primary election committee in Thursday’s rerun governorship primaries in Edo and Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu had announced the final result of the exercise in Benin after the collation of results from 18 Local Government Areas.

Senator Okpebholo polled 12,433 votes to defeat 11 other aspirants who contested the primary election.

CBN issues revised draft regulatory and supervisory guidelines for BDCs, stakeholders

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued a draft of revised Regulatory and Supervisory Guidelines for all Bureau de Change (BDC) Operators and stakeholders in the financial service industry.

The guidelines which seeks to enhance the regulatory framework for BDC operations as part of ongoing reforms of the Nigerian foreign exchange market, was contained in a circular on Friday.

The circular signed by Haruna Mustafa, Director, Financial Policy and Regulation Department of the CBN had the 50 paged guidelines attached.

The guidelines spelt out activities allowed, licensing requirements, corporate governance and Anti Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism provisions for BDCs.
