The noisy neighbours of Manchester are once again close to setting a new Premier League record this season if they can clinch the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City sit a point behind current league leaders Arsenal but have a game in hand that can push them 2 points ahead of the Gunners if they win their outstanding match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Since the start of the Premier League era, no team in the league has been able to surpass the record first set by Sir Alex Fergusen when he led Manchester United to winning the Premier League title three seasons in a row. Since his retirement, Pep Guardiola has been able to achieve that feat on two different occasions, winning the league six times in the last seven years.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City has the chance to surpass the record set by Sir Alex Ferguson if they can win all three of their remaining fixtures of the season against Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham United. These are the remaining fixtures that stand between Pep Guardiola and a new Premier League record and amongst all three of them. He will be more weary of their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, a ground he has failed to secure a victory in the league since they moved in, his only victory on that ground came in the league cup when City won but a solo strike from Nathaniel Ake.

City will be looking to jump past this hurdle and clinch their fourth title in four years and set a new Premier League Record as well. The matches against Fulham and West Ham will not be easy as well but Pep Guardiola will have his full focus on the game against Tottenham Hotspur as they look like the likeliest team to make them drop points in this title race.
