Kenyan youths led by generation Z and millennials have amplified their demands to President William Ruto to dismiss his entire Cabinet.
This comes after Ruto chaired the first Cabinet meeting on Thursday, July 4, two weeks after anti-government protests broke out across the country.
Taking to social media platform X, the youths used the hashtag #dissolvecabinet to pressure the Head of State to dismiss all his Cabinet Secretaries and form a new Cabinet.
According to some youths, most of President Ruto's CSs are incompetent and deserve to be axed. The youths opined that Kenya has a great pool of qualified professionals from which the President can select his new Cabinet Secretaries from.
Some Gen Zs said reshuffling Cabinet is akin to transferring incompetence from one ministry to another.
"The country has over 20 million qualified candidates. Get new blood on those seats. Get people who understand how the ground is. If it's health, get a doctor. If it's a youth docket, get a youth. If it's agriculture , get a farmer. Simple as that," a netizen commented.
"Dissolve the whole damn lot. Their levels of incompetence are beyond repair. Reshuffling them is just transferring inefficiency from one docket to another," another X user commented.
"Reshufling cabinet nikama kutransfer a Nairobi based rogue cop to Marsabit. Hatachange bado," opined another vocal Gen Z.
"We have over qualified competent professionals in every field in this country with PhDs please Mr. President @WilliamsRuto chose from them so that they can steer this country forward. Dissolve this incompetent cabinet," another X user commented
