Abuja, Nigeria - A group of protesters gathered in Wuse 2, carrying placards and chanting slogans to express their frustration and anger over the government's inability to address the rising cost of living and unemployment. The protesters, mainly young Nigerians, demanded action from the government to address the growing hunger and food scarcity in the country.

Former Senator Shehu Sani, who encountered the protesters, took to social media to warn Senate President Godswill Akpabio to avoid the area, fearing for his safety. Sani shared that some protesters recognized him and allowed him to pass, but warned Akpabio to steer clear of the area.

The protest comes amid growing discontent over the government's handling of the economy and its response to the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. Labour Party chieftain Kayode Oyeniran acknowledged the frustration but cautioned against protests, citing the potential for violence and chaos. Instead, he urged the government to engage with the protesters and address their grievances.

Goodluck Ibem, President General of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, called on Nigerian youths to channel their energy into farming and agriculture, emphasizing the need for a sustainable solution to food scarcity.
