Peter Agu, the Chief Executive Officer of MaxiRock International Limited and the National President of the Coalition for Forever One Nigeria Initiative (FONI), has established a connection between the unstable economic situation in Nigeria and the ongoing difficulties of insurgency and insecurity that have been encountered by both previous and current administrations. In order to support economic growth and development in the country, Agu advised President Bola Tinubu to prioritise national unity by executing equitable appointments. He feels that this will improve the country's overall economic situation.

During an interview with The Sun, Agu discussed a number of topics, one of which being the alleged sorrow that northern leaders have voiced for voting for Tinubu in 2023 and their promise that they will not reelect him in 2027. In response to this, Agu suggested an alternative idea, which was that the North may choose to vote for Peter Obi, who had previously served as Vice President of Nigeria, in order to prevent Tinubu from being reelected in 2027.

It was Agu's contention that electoral decisions ought to be guided by the notion of rotational presidency, which stipulates a turn-by-turn system between the North and the South. In light of the fact that the North had voted for Tinubu in 2023, he argued that it would be fair for the South-East, which was represented by Peter Obi, to be considered for the president in 2027. Agu placed a strong emphasis on the significance of adhering to ideals of equality and justice in the political landscape of Nigeria in order to cultivate national unity and stability.

He said: if the North wants to stop Tinubu from being reelected in 2027, they have an option which is to vote Peter Obi. Since they believe and agree that the presidency is turn-by-turn between the North and South. Because former President Muhammadu Buhari completed his 8 years tenure and that was why the North voted for Tinubu who is from the South in 2023. So, from all indication, Peter Obi can complete Tinubu’s 8 years if they decide to vote for him in 2027 for equity and justice. Yes, it was the turn of South-East to produce the President in 2023 because the southwest had governed under former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
