Valentine Ozoigbo, a prominent Labour Party chieftain and former governorship candidate in Anambra State, has sounded the alarm over the escalating insecurity in the state. In a recent social media post, Ozoigbo lamented that the security situation in Anambra has deteriorated significantly, with numerous kidnapping incidents reported across the state.

Drawing parallels with Chinua Achebe's classic novel "No Longer at Ease," Ozoigbo noted that the legendary author could not have foreseen the eerie resemblance to the current state of affairs in Anambra. The Labour Party leader emphasized that the security architecture in Anambra has collapsed, leaving citizens vulnerable to abductions and violence.

Ozoigbo's concerns were prompted by a spate of kidnappings in various parts of the state, including Ifite Awka, Agulu, Adazi, Oraukwu Road, Nimo, and Ichida-Neni-Igboukwu. He criticized Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration for prioritizing tax collection over addressing the pressing security concerns, leaving the state in a state of chaos. The situation has sparked widespread anxiety among residents, with calls for urgent action to restore peace and security in Anambra State.
