Mr Mark Jacob, The Former Legal Adviser Of The Peoples Democratic Party has shared his thoughts regarding the highly-anticipated NEC meeting set to take place among PDP members on Thursday. While making his contributions on this topic, he stated clearly that the present issue in the PDP was caused by mismanagement of the party affairs. He claimed that some people in the party refused to do the right thing which resulted in the chaos presently faced by the PDP. According to him, Some members who were against the removal of Former PDP Chairman Iyorchia Ayu are now the ones asking for the removal of Omar Damagun which is quite ironic.
Mark Jacob said it will be quite difficult to produce a candidate from North Central to become the next PDP Chairman since Iyorchia Ayu's case in court is yet to be settled. The Ex PDP Legal Adviser also stated that the party isn't carrying out its duties as an opposition party. According to him, the PDP is letting the ruling party APC carry out their activities unchallenged while they pay more attention to minor issues that shouldn't in any way be taking centre stage.
In an interview with Arise News Television today, he said: "I don't think there is any factorization around Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike because sincerely it has not arisen. The named individuals have their followers but that has not come to the fall, what has come to the fall is that there are consequences for refusing to do what was a simple thing to do. The time Iyorchia Ayu ought to have stepped aside he refused and people encouraged him not to set aside. Today, even if people want to replace Iyorchia Ayu there is a problem and the problem is that there is a court case going on currently. I had somewhere they have filed a notice of discontinuance but the mere fact that they have filed an application doesn't mean an order has been made. Unless that court case is dispensed with, Iyorchia Ayu by all intents and purposes is still in the configuration of affairs".
