Pressure Mounts as Ruto Set to Dismiss This Number of Cabinet Secretaries For Failing Him

President William Samoei Ruto on Thursday hosted a cabinet meeting at State House, where he evaluated the recent protests that rocked the country in the past three weeks. The protests erupted after the National Assembly passed the controversial finance bill that was set to increase taxes on Kenyans.

The meeting also revolved around engaging the youths in the upcoming meeting on X where the head of state will listen to the issues that were raised you g people across the country. The president invited the cabinet secretaries to also engage the youths.

However, the cabinet meeting in state house could be the last for a section of cabinet secretaries after reports emerged that the head of state could fire almost seven cabinet secretaries. The head of state will reportedly dismiss those who he feels are not delivering as per the plan.

During the anti-government protests, pressure mounted on President William Samoei Ruto to tackle corruption in his Kenya Kwanza administration since some of those who have been linked with various scandals are still serving in his administration.

Among those who are under fire includes the Cabinet Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture Mithika Linturi who was linked to a fake fertilizer scandal that left hundreds of farmers counting loses. The vocal politician was impeached by the National Assembly but later saved by a special committee that was formed.

While addressing the media last Sunday, President William Samoei Ruto said that he will go for soul-searching after he was asked about his cabinet secretaries' performance. Ruto added that they could have done better while discharging their duties.
