Governor Mbah Of Enugu State Wins Entrepreneurial Development Award

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has received an award from the federal government for his efforts in championing entrepreneurial development and economic growth through the empowerment of micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs in the State.

AIT reports that, Governor Mbah was among few Nigerians recognized during the 6th National MSME award held at the State House Banquet hall in Abuja.

The Enugu State Government, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), established a N1 billion fund to support MSMEs in the state.

The N1 billion fund's goal is to provide MSMEs with easily accessible, single-digit loans, fulfilling the critical need for inexpensive business financing in Enugu.

Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, explained that the award was established as part of the 2024 MSME Week celebrations to recognize and incentivize innovative and resilient entrepreneurs and state actors who have achieved exceptional success in their ventures.

The federal government established a national MSME clinic to help entrepreneurs promote their goods, acquire financing, and improve in important areas including funding, talent development, and infrastructure.

During the 2024 MSMEs Week celebrations, distinguished entrepreneurs received houses, automobiles, and cash prizes.
