Oba Maduabuchi has dismissed attempts by PDP members who defected to APC to regain their seats, citing their sworn affidavits in multiple courts confirming their defection. He pointed out that their enthusiastic support for the APC, captured on video, further undermines their claims. Maduabuchi emphasized that jurisdiction is a fundamental aspect of the rule of law, and without it, any court decision lacks authority. He believes the lawmakers' efforts to reclaim their seats are therefore futile.
In his words, "While these PDP members may attempt to portray themselves as non-defectors, they cannot escape their own sworn affidavits submitted in multiple courts affirming their defection to the APC. Their enthusiastic chant of 'Your Mandate, We Stand' was clearly captured on video. As legal practitioners, we uphold the rule of law, so I fail to see any issue here. Jurisdiction is fundamental; without it, any court's decision lacks authority."
