Senegal legend Diomansy Kamara has come to the defense of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, comparing his current struggles to those of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr in his early days at the Spanish giants, according to GOAL.

Jackson has faced intense criticism from Chelsea fans for his wastefulness in front of goal, with his latest miss coming in the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday. However, Kamara believes the 21-year-old will come good for the Blues with time.

"Nicolas Jackson is a talented player, and I think people need to be patient with him," Kamara told (link unavailable) "He's still young and adapting to a new league. I remember when Vinicius Jr first joined Real Madrid, he struggled to find his footing, but look at him now. He's one of the best players in the world."

Kamara, who spent seven years in England playing for clubs like West Ham and Fulham, added: "Jackson has already shown his quality by scoring 10 Premier League goals this season. He just needs to keep working hard and the goals will come."

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has also echoed Kamara's sentiments, urging fans to be patient with Jackson. "We need to be patient with Nicolas," Pochettino said. "He's a young player who is still adapting to our style of play. We believe in his talent, and we're confident he will come good for us."
