Real Madrid have activated the purchase option for Joselu, bringing the Spanish striker to the club on a permanent basis from Espanyol. However, Joselu's stay at Real Madrid will be short-lived, as he is set to depart for Qatar to join Al-Gharafa.

Joselu initially joined Real Madrid on loan last summer following Espanyol's relegation from La Liga. His performance was noteworthy, with the 34-year-old netting 18 goals in 49 appearances last season.

His contributions played a significant role as Carlo Ancelotti’s side clinched both the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy. On Thursday, Espanyol confirmed that Real Madrid had triggered Joselu's release clause, valued at €1.5 million. Despite this acquisition, Real Madrid has decided to transfer Joselu to Al-Gharafa, a Qatari club, in a move that seems mutually beneficial for all parties involved.

Joselu's career has been marked by his consistent scoring ability and valuable experience, and his impending move to Qatar will likely provide a new chapter and challenges in his professional journey. Meanwhile, Real Madrid continues to strengthen and reshape their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
