9 People Were Also Taken Along With The General And Also 3 People Were Shot —Abdul Yusuf
Retired Major General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been abducted from his residence in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to reports, the attack occurred in the early hours of Thursday when a group of heavily armed assailants stormed the village, firing indiscriminately and causing widespread panic. Witnesses say the gunmen appeared to have specifically targeted General Tsiga, heading directly to his home and forcefully taking him away.
A local resident, Abdul Yusuf, recounted the terrifying ordeal, explaining that some villagers attempted to intervene but were forced to retreat due to the intensity of the gunfire. The attack did not stop at the General’s abduction; nine other villagers were also taken, and three people sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.
The words of Yusuf on the incidence read, "We learnt that the kidnappers invaded his town in the early hours of Thursday, and when they arrived they started shooting sporadically and as if General Tsiga was the main target they went to his home and kidnapped him.
Yusuf maintained that they were efforts to rescue the former NYSC DG but he stated that, "In attempt to rescue him some villagers came to assist but were scared away.
Regarding those who were also carried away captive alongside the former NYSC DG, He said that, "It was reported that 9 people were also taken along with the General and also 3 people were shot"
