According to Vanguard, The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has commended troops of the Joint Task Force North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) for their gains in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the North East Theatre. He urged them to sustain the momentum and remain resolute in combating terrorism.
General Lagbaja acknowledged the dedication and courage of the troops, many of whom have been wounded in battle. He appreciated the support of the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and other service chiefs in the fight against the nation's adversaries.
The COAS commissioned several projects in Maimalari Cantonment, including a newly constructed headquarters complex and roads. The Theatre Commander, Major General Waidi Shaibu, catalogued the recoveries made by troops, including vehicles and equipment repaired by the Theatre Main Repair Group.
The event showcased the effectiveness of the theatre's operational engagements and the sacrifices of the troops. The COAS urged the troops to remain focused and motivated, as they continue to combat terrorism and insurgency in the region.
