In a recent statement, the Kaduna Citizens Watch for Good Governance (KCWGG), a well-known group, has taken action against alleged corruption in the state, as reported by Vanguard.

They have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

The petition concerns N423 billion that was allegedly misappropriated by the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, and his officials.

On Wednesday, the Chairman of KCWGG, Comrade Victor Duniya, addressed a press conference.

He said the petitions call for immediate investigations, arrests, and prosecutions of El-Rufai and his appointees.

These officials are accused of mismanagement, siphoning funds, and engaging in illegal financial and administrative activities during El-Rufai's eight-year tenure as governor.

Responding to questions about El-Rufai’s recent lawsuit against the State House of Assembly.

“It is just a delay tactic because justice delayed is justice denied. But we will continue to voice out our protest to ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done. It is unfortunate that El-Rufai, who never obeyed court orders as governor, is now running to the same court to seek protection,” Comrade Duniya said.

On July 2, 2024, KCWGG officially lodged petitions at the headquarters of the EFCC and the zonal office of the ICPC in Kaduna and underlined the importance of accountability.

The group remains committed to ensuring justice is served and to supporting the efforts of the EFCC and ICPC in their investigations.

They believe that addressing these allegations is crucial for good governance and the rule of law in Kaduna State.
