According to Channels Television, Ayo Olorunfemi, Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), affirmed that Peter Obi remains the ideal presidential candidate for Nigeria in 2027. Speaking candidly about Obi's political future, Ayo Olorunfemi stressed that the Labour Party is the only viable platform for his candidacy.
He dismissed the notion that Obi might consider aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria's two dominant political parties. "Which political party would he go to, APC or PDP?" he questioned, suggesting that neither party aligns with Obi’s political ideology and vision for the country.
Ayo Olorunfemi stressed that the Labour Party offers the most promising pathway for Obi to achieve electoral success. He stated that the only place for Peter Obi to win an election in 2027 is the Labour Party. Revealing the party's alignment with Obi's reformist agenda and the loyalty of his supporters.
According to him, "Everybody knows that Peter Obi is still the best president that we are yet to have. The true OBIdients out there won't advise Peter Obi to leave the Labour party..which political party would he go to APC or PDP? The only place for Peter Obi to win an election in 2027 is the Labour Party."
Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State, was the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the 2023 elections. Although he did not win, his campaign resonated with a significant portion of the electorate, particularly young voters and professionals disillusioned with the traditional political state.
