Kenyans have roasted Cabinet Secretary for Interior Professor Kithure Kindiki Following his hardline position during his interview on Citizen TV's Sam Gituku, on Thursday Evening. He made some controversial headlines that has made Kenyans questions his intelligence of becoming the second in command, with Kenyans now admitting that no wonder Ruto chose Gachagua over him.
Among the sentiments that angered Kenyans is where, CS Kithure Kindiki defended plain cloth officers who were shooting peaceful protestors. He stated that being a police officer is not solely defined by wearing a uniform. Kindiki further added that there is nothing unusual about officers not wearing uniforms in such situations.
During the protests against the Finance Bill, Kithure Kindiki denied reports of government abductions of Kenyans. While some social media activists claimed they were abducted by security forces and held incommunicado, Kindiki described these incidents as routine arrests, emphasizing that Ruto's government does not condone abductions.
Despite the deaths of over 40 people from live ammunition and several injuries during the protests, Prof. Kindiki proceeded to commend the police for their professional and restrained response in handling the highly provocative situations that occurred during the violent riots.
Kithure Kindiki responded to critics who questioned his resignation amid concerns over his performance in meeting public expectations. Despite facing increasing pressure, he firmly stated that he has no intention of resigning. He emphasized that the thought of resigning has never crossed his mind, highlighting his commitment to always giving his best when fulfilling his duties.
