JUST-IN: Bandits Kill 6, Injure 8 In Fresh Kaduna Attack

Bandits attacked Ambe Community in Southern Kaduna, killing six people and injuring eight others in a Sunday night raid. The assailants moved from house to house, causing mayhem in the village. Hon. Daniel Amos, a federal lawmaker, confirmed the incident and condemned the attack aimed at disrupting peace in his constituency. He called for calm among residents and urged swift action by security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Kaduna State Police also confirmed the incident, stating that one suspect has been arrested, and efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice. The federal lawmaker extended condolences to the affected families and emphasized the importance of maintaining security in the area.

APC Insists Gov Primary Held in Ondo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State refuted claims by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the governorship primary election did not take place in certain wards. The party asserted that the primary was conducted across all Local Government Areas except in Ifedore and Ilaje, where there were agitations and subsequent cancellations of results.

The APC criticized the authenticity of INEC's report and cautioned against efforts to discredit the primary process. The party urged supporters to focus on winning the governorship election and dismissed petitions challenging the primary outcome. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa emerged as the primary winner with 48,596 votes.

Gbenga Oluwafemi, also known as "Mopol," refuted claims of receiving rent payments for 86 apartments under Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi, denying allegations of collecting N250,000 per annum. He asserted recognition by Dolphin Estate officials and politicians, citing a container provided by Festus Keyamo during a previous government's tenure. Oluwafemi denied accepting rent payments and dismissed evidence suggesting rent collection.

The Lagos State Government has intensified efforts to apprehend suspected gang leaders responsible for renting out these apartments. Residents corroborated claims of paying rent to "Mopol," with receipts and testimonies supporting the government's demolition actions. Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (retd.) of Kick Against Indiscipline condemned the unauthorized structures under the bridge as sabotage against government facilities.

‘You don’t exist, I can de-recognize you’ – Fubara blasts Rivers lawmakers

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State dismissed the existence of members of the Rivers State House of Assembly during a meeting with a delegation from Bayelsa State seeking to resolve political tensions. Fubara attributed the lawmakers' existence to his recognition based on a political peace accord he signed with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. He emphasized that his acceptance of the peace accord was a political solution and not a constitutional matter. Fubara expressed frustration with the ongoing political crisis and highlighted the sacrifices he made for peace in the state.
