Ekiti Leads in IGR Growth Rate, Says Report

The state's IGR rose from N17.03bn in 2022 to N29.82bn in 2023, marking a 75% increase. Governor Biodun Oyebanji's effective performance and enhanced reporting contributed to this growth, improving Ekiti's ranking in multiple tax collection categories.

In Anambra State, it was revealed that 59 deceased individuals, 40 retired staff, and people living abroad are still receiving salaries in the local government system. Additionally, 427 individuals were found on the payroll without being actual staff. Fake educational certificates were also discovered among 44 employees. The findings came from a verification audit led by the Local Government Service Commission, resulting in some staff being dismissed or demoted. The audit aimed to cleanse the system of irregularities.
