A young lady who joined a gang to kidnap a pastor has shared her story after she and another suspect were paraded by the police in Edo State

In a video shared by Channels TV, the young woman explained that on the day of the kidnapping, her boyfriend invited her to get something to eat with him. She said around 9 PM, her boyfriend offered to walk her home and suggested that they should take a shortcut. She said they ended up in someone's backyard, and when she questioned why they were there, her boyfriend threatened her with a gun and forced her to follow his instructions. She said she was scared and had no choice but to obey him

In her words: "The day this operation took place, they asked me let us come out and get something to eat so I came out. Around 9pm he said he wanted to escort me back home and he said we should follow a shortcut so I said okay. We ended up in someone's backyard so I asked him what are we doing here and he told me to shut up. He (my boyfriend) pointed a gun at my head when I wanted to turn back and I agreed to do anything he asked me to doMeanwhile, Funsho Adegboye, the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, advised the public to monitor their children and pay attention to their friends. He said the young woman confessed that it was her boyfriend who lured her into the kidnapping scheme.

In Adegboye's words: "Members of the public, let us watch our children, our wards and monitor what they do and the kind of friends they keep. She saw one member of the gang giving a gun to her own boyfriend. It was her boyfriend, who according to her, lured her into this criminal activity of kidnapping".
