In the fiscal year 2023–2024, the Muranga county exceeds its own source revenue projections by 1.6 million. The county has taken many by surprise, particularly when compared to other counties that, since the county government's founding under the 2010 constitution, have never succeeded in reaching their goals.

Kenyans are proud of Irungu Kangata for demonstrating his leadership abilities. Prior to this, Kangata wa Barua—as President Ruto has always called him—was the county senator. He is among the leaders who abruptly distanced themselves from Uhuru in order to win the governorship of Muranga.

Kenyans' responses are as follows:

"Irungu ought to write the president multiple letters discussing good leadership and governance," David Love said.

"He ought to impart leadership and management skills to his boss." Grace Kim said.

"Take a look at the individuals he selected for the county budget and economic forum and contrast them with the appointments made by your governor.😄." As Kimson Mukumu put it, "This Barua guy is Genius.".

"These are the results of having capable leadership present in the workplace each morning. I wish this county's tutoring standards could be set by my governor." Kibet said.

"Now that these are the leaders we want, Ruto ought to go set a benchmark there." stated D Karis.

"I used to despise this guy—MTU ya barua—but in all honesty, it appears that he is the only prominent figure in Mount Kenya with experience. You immediately have my support for taking on the opposition UDA ☫️ well done 👏." stated Dennis Kariuki..

"This guy is really intelligent; just look at the team he put together to work with him." Arap Chumo said.

It is good that we now have leaders we can rely on and who are aware of their mandates. This one has the potential to be president in the near future, in my opinion. You will not find a good leader who can deliver doing public relations, talking a lot, or loving to prove points. Instead, they take action and do not make empty promises that they know they can not keep." Kennedy Gitumu said
