In remembrance of the demonstrators who lost their lives while opposing the Finance Bill, hundreds of young people are anticipated to march to Uhuru Park on Sunday for a concert.

Kenya's history will be discussed during the event, which falls on the same anniversary as the Saba Saba rebellion of 1990, which resulted in the nation's second liberation. Plans for the memorial concert were revealed earlier this week by activist Boniface Mwangi on his official X account. He wrote: "On Sunday, artists have organized a memorial concert in Uhuru Park in honor of the Kenyans who died during the protests." All pertinent government agencies have been notified.

For the first time in Kenyan history, President William Ruto was confronted with angry questions on Friday regarding the inadequacies and wrongdoings of his government from the people of Kenya. Over 160,000 Kenyans attended the X Space gathering, where the Head of State found it difficult to justify the controversial policies of his government while promising reforms in key sectors.

Protesters from Generation Z and Millennials invited the president to X Space after they turned down a task force idea to deal with issues that affected them. Social media platforms have shifted the dialogue in Kenya in recent weeks by facilitating direct communication between residents and officials and providing an uncensored venue for citizens to pose difficult issues.

No president has ever exposed himself to this and answered the public in real time. Ruto started by promising to do what he was accused of not doing: listen first. He claimed to have "understood the anger" of Kenyans.
