The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCCAC), has stated that the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, who also served as former governor of Kano state, embezzled about N51.3 billion.

Mr. Muhuyi Magaji, the Commission Chairman, allegedly revealed this information in an interview with Arise Television, as reported by the Daily Post. Several local government accounts received the N51.3 billion, as pointed out by Mr. Magaji.

Speaking further, he claimed that the then Government of former Gov Ganduje, "met with local government officials to create false expenditure with a payment voucher and then diverted the money."

He said: "We have been able to trace over N51.3 billion based on confessional statements and how they were diverted. What we are tracking is well over N100 billion."

He went on to say that 200 people had admitted to the Commission that they had taken money from Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the APC. He continued by saying that the former governor of Kano State is facing charges based on evidence that the panel has.

Another allegation made by Magaji concerns the sale of a Kano State government-owned business to a family business. Magaji pointed out that Ganduje's wife serves as secretary to this business.

It is worth noting that Governor Abba Yusuf's administration in Kano State recently levied charges against Abdullahi Ganduje, a former governor and national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on the grounds that Ganduje embezzled funds belonging to Kano State.
