Sophia Momodu, the mother of David Adeleke’s daughter, has told a Lagos State High Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, not to grant the child’s custody to the musician.

Momodu told the court on Friday that the applicant was not fit to be granted custody of their daughter because he is always not available and does not possess the ability to dutifully care for her.

She stated this in a counter-affidavit she filed in opposition to Davido’s suit seeking custody.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that contrary to Davido’s claim that he had consistently fulfilled his financial obligations toward his daughter, Momodu told the court that the child was almost sent away from school because the artiste refused to pay her tuition fees.

According to her, while their relationship lasted, Davido never showed true commitment or love toward their daughter.

“He always used the condition of my making myself available for his sexual pleasures, as a pre-condition to visit our daughter or show some fatherly love to her.

“The applicant apart from his cravings for sex only comes around to spend time with our daughter when he wants to use our daughter for his media stunts or promotions.

Kadiri stated this in a post on her Instagram page while assuring her fans and the general public of her commitment to creating a lasting brand that will earn audience trust.

While outlining her vision for the transformation, Kadiri noted that she does not depend on others in the industry for promotion.

She wrote: “The way my brain functions, I ask myself what would become of my brand if I had no promotional help. Truthfully, I do not bank on anyone so when you choose not to offer help, I’m not really bothered.

“I will change the pattern in Nigerian cinema, I promise you all. You will watch my movie not because someone begged you to watch it, but because you trust me. I am here to build a brand of longevity that definitely does not require constant begging.

“I, Ruth Kadiri, am not in a hurry; don’t worry about that. Building a solid structure is all I’m about.”

Appeal Court: We’re unfazed by judgement – Fubara

Rivers state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has played down the gravity of the Thursday’s ruling by the Court of Appeal in Abuja which quashed the ruling of the High Court in Port Harcourt on the defection of Martins Amaewhule and 26 other lawmakers.

Addressing the concerns expressed by some persons over the pronouncements of the court, Fubara said there was no cause to worry because God has prepared him a table of blessings in the presence of his enemies.

“I know that a lot of you will be wondering what is going on and all that. Government has its own challenges. If you go to the book of Psalm 23 verse 5, in the Bible, it said that God prepares a table before you; it can be before anybody. But there is an underlined word that should be noted there: it said ‘in the presence of your enemies’. So, it means that nothing comes easy.

“I want to assure everyone of you and the good people of Rivers State, that we are not deterred. We have made our promises, we will continue to give you good governance, no matter how difficult it is.

“But, like I said before, the worse is over. We are moving on to ensure that we continue to provide what is needed for the development of our State.”

Contrary to reports of Thursday the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which held on February 22, 2024 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium has not been annulled or cancelled.

This was disclosed in a statement by, The Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) made the clarification on Friday evening.

The statement reads:”According to the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the ruling by the Honourable Justice Inyang Ekwo in suit no: FHC/ABJ/CS/165/2024, the judge did not at any point in the ruling make mention of disqualifying Ighodalo or nullifying the February 22 primary election of the PDP.

“The counsel to the plaintiffs, Adaze Emwanta, who left the court room yesterday while the ruling was still on to address the press, claiming that the honourable court had disqualified Ighodalo and annulled the primary election, completely misled an entire nation and all media houses, both electronic and print, an act which has been described by sundry legal practitioners as reckless and reprehensible professional conduct.

“With the CTC now made public, the lies and propaganda of opposition parties have been short circuited.”
