Senator Shehu Sani, who previously served as the senator for the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise extreme caution so that he does not make the same error that President Muhammadu Buhari did while in office.

The ex-lawmaker went on to say that nepotism was at its worst under President Buhari of Nigeria, pointing out that people were assigned to positions and then removed even when they failed to fulfill their duties.

Senator Shehu Sani allegedly revealed this information when appearing on Sunday Politics on Channels Television, as reported by the Daily Post. Additionally, Shehu Sani brought up the fact that certain ministers were appointed and remained in their positions for the entire eight years of Buhari's presidency, without any reorganization or removal on his part.

"I will encourage President Tinubu to be careful not to make the mistakes of President Buhari," Shehu Sani said, adding, "I believe he is seasoned enough to comprehend this." So Sani did.

The ex-lawmaker continued by saying that President Buhari kept service chiefs in office despite their failings, saying that President Tinubu should not repeat the same error.

Also, Senator Shehu Sani made it clear that Tinubu should only appoint competent people, regardless of their tribe or religion, if he wants good results. Sani made it clear that the country needs to address the issue of competency as a qualification for appointment if it wants to progress.
