Segun Arinze Addresses Allegations of Homosexuality in Nollywood
Veteran Nigerian actor Segun Arinze has shared his perspective on the persistent claims of homosexuality within the Nigerian movie industry. In an interview with Arise TV, the 59-year-old actor made it clear that he does not engage in homosexual activities and expressed his stance on the issue.
Speaking on the allegations, Arinze emphasized that individuals who choose such a lifestyle are adults with the freedom to make their own decisions. He stated that their choices are not his concern and that he prefers to focus on living a straightforward and professional life.
“I do not bend over, so I cannot react to it. Well, if they do bend over, they should keep bending. That is their problem. They are adults, and they have a right to do whatever they want to do. It is none of my business,” Arinze said.
According to reports from The Cable, the veteran actor further explained his preference for avoiding unnecessary controversies, saying, “I am not going to concern myself with that. I do not like those lash backs. I like living my life straightforward, doing my business, and being the professional that I am.”
Segun Arinze, born Segun Aina, began his career as a singer before venturing into acting. His debut album, Dream, brought him into the spotlight, though it was not a major commercial success. However, it was his role in the 1996 movie Domitilla that earned him widespread recognition in the entertainment industry.
Since then, Arinze has featured in over 100 films, cementing his reputation as one of Nollywood’s most respected actors. His versatility and talent have made him a household name in the Nigerian movie industry, earning him accolades and respect among his peers and fans alike.
While addressing the allegations, Arinze maintained his focus on his career and professionalism, steering clear of distractions.
