Political analyst and publisher Oby Ndukwe, based in Port Harcourt, claims that Martins Amaewhule and his side suspended the three MPs who were backing Governor Sim Fubara the day after the assembly was vandalised.

She pointed out that the assembly has not met to discuss their reinstatement, and these suspensions have continued in the absence of any official recall. Against the parliamentarians who support Fubara, she contended that the group led by the Honourable Martins Amaewhule seemed to be largely depending on legal legitimacy to establish their power.

She said in an interview with Arise TV, ''There is something a lot of people have forgotten. The 3 lawmakers supporting Fubara were suspended by Amaewhule and his group a day after the assembly was destroyed. They were suspended and we're never called back, no assembly sat to recall them back.

So now for a court to say that you are the Speaker and you can sit with two others. Whatever that means, as don't know. But I think that the Amaewhule group has been waiting for the court to decide. Some people are not interested in the fact of the matter and that makes it even more complicated.''
