According to the sun, Bode George, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, recently shared his views on the current challenges facing the party. George, a former deputy national chairman of the PDP, expressed concerns about the ongoing crisis within the party and its implications for its public perception. He emphasized the importance of addressing these issues to maintain the party's credibility.

During a discussion with journalists in Lagos, George highlighted how internal disputes within the PDP have been damaging its public image. He noted that the party’s standing in the eyes of the electorate is critical as it seeks to regain political power. According to him, resolving the crisis is not only vital for the party's survival but also for its ability to appeal to voters ahead of future elections.

Apart from party politics, George also addressed broader national issues such as hunger and insurgency, which he described as pressing challenges facing Nigeria. He expressed deep concern about the growing economic hardship and insecurity in the country, urging for more concerted efforts to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. George underscored the need for effective governance to tackle these problems and restore stability across the nation.

The issue of deportations under the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump also came up during the conversation. George commented on how these actions impacted Nigerians and their families abroad. He stressed the importance of international diplomacy in addressing such matters and ensuring the protection of citizens’ rights in foreign countries.

George further remarked on the role of the PDP in addressing the nation's challenges. He pointed out that the party must position itself as a viable alternative by demonstrating unity and a clear commitment to addressing the concerns of the public. He called for greater accountability within the party’s leadership to ensure its readiness to take on the responsibilities of governance.

He reflected on the need for party members to adhere to established rules and guidelines, emphasizing that this is essential for maintaining order and discipline. According to George, a collective effort is required to restore the PDP’s reputation and ensure it remains a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria's political landscape.

He said: The party is the eyes of the public, Our public image is being dented. And the public are the people who are going to vote us back to power.
