LAGOS – Otunba Segun Adewale, popularly called Aeroland and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Lagos West Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections has said that he will dump the main opposition party and join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and retire his political career there.

Areoland in a press conference on Saturday stated that he has invested so much in the PDP and unfortunately he has been attacked by members of the party who are not loyal to the party.

He said that those who stole the money meant for campaigns in the 2023 general elections were exposed and for that reason they had been fighting him.

‘I was only called to observe the handing over of the money and by the time the money git to Lagos about N1 Billion was missing. I had no choice than to expose that,” he added.

According to him, he had paid his dues and is ready to join the ruling party, stressing that some people who claimed to be leaders of the party are using the party to trade.

He said, “I’ve recently been under several media attacks by a PDP Board of Trustees member (BOT) after I exposed and called him out on his several anti-party activities for two decades in the party.

“You would also recall that shortly after the last election cycle was completed, some elements within the PDP who had worked against the party during the election, were even confirmed by a chieftain of the APC (Deputy Governor) on national TV. made efforts to rejoin the party in order to continue in their quest to strategize for their sinister agenda ahead of 2027.

“While I don’t have problems with any politician cross carpeting, it is highly reprehensible that these wicked elements have traded the fortunes and efforts of well spirited members of the party like myself and other hardworking candidates who work tirelessly spending their hard earned money to contest election only for their efforts to become futile.

“For more than two decades, he has traded the fortunes of the party. It’s on record that he has fought with all the Governorship candidates in the party from 2007 till date. Ditto for other chieftains of the, who had to leave the party for him when they could not bear his offensive.

“On the eve of every election cycle since 2011, Bode George in his characteristic manner, would instruct members to vote for another party. At a time, he instructed members to vote for Labour Party, the following election cycle, he took his followers to vote for ADP.

This statement, signed by TMSG Chairman Emeka Nwankpa and Secretary Dapo Okubanjo, was issued in response to Atiku’s claims that the government is spending N5.4 billion on fuel subsidies this year.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of TMSG, Messers Emeka Nwankpa and Dapo Okubanjo, respectively, while reacting to Atiku’s ‘claims that the government is spending N5.4b on fuel subsidy this year.

“We are amused at the self-imposed opposition leadership Atiku has placed on himself. We would have had no qualms about it if he had been giving rational thinking to his claims. He has many times said those things that came to his mind only on impulse without fully processing those thoughts. These are unbecoming of someone who had occupied the exalted position of a vice president.

The immediate-past National Vice Chairman, North-west, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has criticised Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for allegedly picking a fight against his immediate predecessor.

In a letter dated June 13, 2024, titled “Issues of Politics and Governance in Kaduna: The Truth” and copied to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and several other stakeholders in the state, Lukman said the governor may not win the 2027 election and that his days in office are numbered.

Lukman, who announced his resignation from the ruling party a few days ago, said the governor would be voted out of office alongside President Bola Tinubu in the next election.

“I wish I could spare you. But given that at the end of the day, politics is local, even if you accept to reform yourself but President Tinubu did not embrace reforms, you will be collateral damage. Take it from me, the campaign to defeat APC and President Tinubu is just starting and it will take root in Kaduna State.

“I am honestly worried for you. You are setting a precedent that will hurt you. All I can say is, be careful. At most, in the next 7 years, you will be out,” he said.

He warned the governor against making any derogatory statements against El-Rufai, saying, “Without Mallam, it would have been almost impossible for you to rise to where you are today.

ABUJA: The immediate-past National Vice Chairman, North-west, of the All Progressives Congress APC, Salihu Moh. Lukman has told Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state that his days in office were numbered, as he would be voted out alongside President Bola Tinubu in the next three years.

Lukman berated the governor for waging war against his predecessor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, saying the governor was fighting a proxy war for the presidency.

The former Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum PGF warned the Governor that the campaign to defeat APC and President Asiwaju Tinubu had just started and it would take root in Kaduna State.

In a letter titled “Issues of Politics and Governance in Kaduna: The Truth”, dated 13th June, 2024 and copied to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Ramalan Yero, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Mal. B. A. Law-al, Hon. Garba Datti, Sen. Suleiman Hunkuyi, Alh. Yusuf Mairago, Alh. Lawal Samaila Yakawad, Alh. Bashir Abubakar Alhaji and Mal. Mohammed Sani Dattijo, Lukman said Governor Uba Sani was setting a precedence that would eventually hurt him.

He said; “I am honestly worried for you. You are setting a precedence that will hurt you. All I can say is, be careful. Maximum, in the next 7 years, you will be out. You must recognize that without Mallam, it would almost have been impossible for you to rise to where you are today. The privilege of being a Governor has an expiry date. In your case, if you are lucky, another seven years. But from the way things are unfolding, I believe the default expiry date for your tenure is another three years. Both you and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have clearly sent out the worrisome signals of being anything but democrats.

“Unfortunately, both President Asiwaju Tinubu and you have alienated yourselves and you are behaving as autocrats and if left unchecked, whatever has been achieved under this democracy in the last 25 years will be destroyed. When you invited some of us to a meeting about two months ago, my hope was that you have create the handle to help correct that. Sadly, it was reduced to photo opportunity and the next thing I heard was that there were people among members of the group who were threatened by the presence of some people and had exploited their closeness with you to demobilize the group.
