According to the report from the Sun, the National Youth Leader of the Labour Party, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu addresses the issue of the delayed inauguration of the board within the Labour Party, emphasizing that the party has fulfilled its agreement to accommodate nominees from the NLC by including Madam Ladi Elia and Alhaji Umaru in the NWC.

He explains that the delay is due to the fact that some of the nominated members are already members of other political parties, making it difficult for the LP to integrate them.

He further asserts that institutional membership in the LP, like that of the NLC, is not acceptable because the interests of these institutions may not align with the party's objectives.

He said, "Some of these people they nominated, have not even participated for more than 20 years in the Labour Party. Then Madam Ladi Elia was the NLC representative in the NWC. There is another man from Kaduna State, Alhaji Umaru. He is also an NLC nominee in the NWC. They were accommodated. So, they cannot say that that agreement was not fulfilled. The agreement was fulfilled. The only thing remaining is the inauguration of the Board which is being delayed because some of the people they nominated are already members of other political parties.

There is no way you will bring a member of APC and make him a board member in LP. It is not done. Also, note that most of the NLC chairmen in the states work for the ruling party. That is why as a political party, it will not be acceptable to have institutional membership like NLC. If you have members of NLC, who are retired who want to play active politics, they should go to their ward and become a member of the Labour Party."
