According to Punch, the Kaduna State Police Command has made significant strides in its ongoing efforts to combat criminal activity in the North-West Zone, announcing the arrest of 143 suspects, including a notorious marabout and a female gunrunner.

Mallam Ali Bello, 47, a marabout linked to bandits, was apprehended at his shrine near Kidandan forest, where he was preparing charms for a prominent bandit leader. This arrest is part of Operation Yaki's efforts to disrupt criminal networks and their spiritual support systems.

Additionally, Aisha Abubakar, 25, was intercepted while transporting 550 rounds of AK-47 ammunition from Nasarawa to Katsina State. The seizure highlights the Command's success in disrupting the supply lines that sustain banditry in the region.

The Command has reported a series of achievements in the past two months, including the neutralization of nine bandits, arrest of 73 armed robbery suspects, and recovery of 1,817 rounds of live ammunition. Firearms, vehicles, and motorcycles used in criminal activities were also confiscated.

Commissioner Ali Dabigi praised the dedication and professionalism of Kaduna State police officers in safeguarding communities and assured the public of continued efforts to maintain peace and security. He urged vigilance and cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.
