Amidst the escalating tensions between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his immediate predecessor, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, several political leaders in Rivers State have voiced their support for Governor Fubara. This endorsement was prominently displayed during an event held in Ogu Bolo local government area, organized to demonstrate solidarity for the Governor.

One such leader expressing support for Governor Fubara was Abiye Sekibo, a former Transportation Minister, who urged Wike to refrain from targeting the Governor and instead focus on his responsibilities as the FCT Minister. Sekibo emphasized that Wike had already been rewarded with a prestigious ministerial appointment by the President and should dedicate his efforts to fulfilling his duties in the FCT.

Christiana Tamuno, the leader of Ward 3 in Ogu Bolo, echoed Sekibo's sentiments by commending Governor Fubara for prioritizing the interests of the people of Rivers State. She contrasted Fubara's leadership style with that of the previous governor, who she accused of prioritizing personal gain over the welfare of the state's residents. Tamuno praised Fubara's commitment to placing the needs of Rivers State above all else.

According to Tamuno, Governor Fubara's approach exemplifies a departure from the previous administration's focus on personal pride, power, and property. She lauded Fubara's humility and dedication to serving the people of Rivers State, emphasizing his willingness to safeguard the state's interests against external interference.
