Speaking in Emuado-Ekpoma in Esan West LGA, Okpeboho greeted more than 4,000 defectors to the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had left the Obidient Movement in Ward 4 and other Ekpoma wards. Focusing on the gubernatorial contest, Okpeboho emphasized the importance of the election—which is scheduled for September 21, 2024—as a chance for a new beginning. In a statement expressing discontent with the way matters like the unpaid pay of AAU instructors were handled, Okpeboho blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Godwin Obaseki for their inadequate leadership.
"The disregard of AAU, Ekpoma's lecturers is inexcusable," Okpeboho said in a forceful statement.
