‘Davido’s marriage not good example’ – Burna Boy

Afrobeats singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has claimed that his colleague, Davido’s marriage isn’t a good example.

He stated this, while responding to a fan, who urged him to emulate the embattled singer and get married soon.

DAILY POST reports that Davido is currently embroiled in a child custody battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.

The DMW boss had on Friday night called out his baby mama, Sophia, for citing the death of his son, Ifeanyi, who drowned in a swimming pool accident at his Lagos mansion, in her counter suit.

No future in cybercrime – EFCC Chairman tells youths

The Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has advised Nigerian youths to steer clear of cybercrime as no future lies therein.

In a statement by the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, on Friday, the chairman gave the charge when the executives of Committee of Youth Mobilization and Sensitization, CYMS, led by Chief Obinna Nwaka paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission’s corporate headquarters, Abuja.

Olukoyede, admitted that some youths were smart and skillful and urged them to channel such talents to productive engagement and not to internet fraud.

He, therefore, reassured of the commission’s commitments in redeeming the youths from the path of derailment even as he urged the people and relevant stakeholders to join hands in stemming the tide of cyber crime in the country.

End killings in Nasarawa – Group urges Governor Sule

A socio-cultural group, the Alago Ikweyi Ggayi Development Union, has called on the Nasarawa State Government to urgently intervene in the ongoing killings resulting from a land dispute between the Alago and Tiv farmers in Keana Local Government Area of the state.

The group, warned that the situation could escalate into a full-blown war across the state.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that a crisis erupted around the Nasarawa-Benue border communities, which are home to indigenous Alago and Tiv farmers.

The conflict had left four people dead and several others injured.

Sultan declares Sunday as Islamic new year 1446 AH

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Sunday 7th of July, 2024, as the first day of Muharram, the first month in the new Islamic year 1446 After Hijrah.

A statement signed by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, explained that, “the national and the various moon sighting committees across the country did not receive any report on the sighting of the new moon of Muharram on Friday, 5th July, 2024, which is the 29th of Dhul’Hijja 1445 AH, hence Saturday, 6th of July, is the 30th of Dhul’Hijja”.

The Sultan felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the new year and urged them to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the country.
