Jordanian security forces have successfully uncovered and detonated explosives hidden in a commercial warehouse located in an industrial area southeast of Amman, the capital. According to security sources, this discovery is part of a broader Iran-linked plot aimed at destabilizing Jordan, a crucial ally of the United States, according to Times of Israel.

Earlier, witnesses reported that security forces had cordoned off the Abu Alanda area, launching an extensive security operation just two days after authorities announced they had neutralized explosives found in another part of the capital. The latest cache of explosives, discovered on Monday, was reportedly hidden by the same group responsible for the munitions uncovered on Saturday. These initial explosives were found in a densely populated residential area near a military airport frequently used by US military aircraft.

While the authorities have yet to disclose the identities of those behind the storage of these explosives or confirm whether any arrests have been made, they have assured the public that full details will be released once the ongoing investigations are concluded.

Over the past year, Jordan has thwarted numerous attempts to smuggle weapons by infiltrators linked to pro-Iranian militias in Syria. These groups have allegedly crossed into Jordan carrying rocket launchers and explosives, with some of these arms successfully evading detection. Although Iran has denied involvement in these smuggling attempts, security sources maintain that these actions are part of a clandestine campaign to recruit agents for sabotage activities within Jordan.

Security officials have emphasized that the large quantities of explosives found indicate a clear terrorist intent. They believe this is part of Iran's strategy to destabilize Jordan, a key strategic partner of the US in the Middle East. Some of the intercepted arms are suspected to be destined for the Israeli-controlled West Bank, with several Jordanians linked to Palestinian terrorist groups already apprehended.
