Arsenal's Bid to Keep Wonderkid Amid European Interest Heats Up

Arsenal has expressed interest in keeping teenage striker Chido Obi Martin at the club for next summer.

The 17-year-old stands out as one of Mikel Arteta's top prospects for the next generation. The Spanish tactician took the wonderkid on a preseason tour this year to ward off interest from top clubs. Chido Obi Martin has been generating buzz with his sensational performances in the youth team, especially after scoring a hat-trick in his debut game last year against Southampton. His display drew comparisons to fellow Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen by the Danish media.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal has now improved their offer to Chido Obi Martin to secure his future at the club. Arteta is also strongly advocating for him to stay next summer.

Although there's no agreement yet, as pathways are crucial for the Danish-born player, he is still considering offers from FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, and other top European clubs before making a decision.

Chido Obi Martin, eligible to play for the Super Eagles due to his Nigerian father, has expressed a preference to represent Denmark internationally, citing his comfort and belief that he would perform at his best for Denmark.

The 1.88-metre-tall striker is expected to be a significant addition to the senior team's attack. His goalscoring ability and speed will be a huge asset to Mikel Arteta in the coming season.
