Man from South America Caught with Cocaine while Searching for Nigerian Father.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) disclosed on Sunday, 30 June, 2024, through its spokesperson Femi Babafemi's social media platforms, that a man based in South America was apprehended in Nigeria with nearly 10kg of cocaine. The individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly traveled to Nigeria in search of his long-lost Nigerian father.


The arrest occurred at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA) earlier today Sunday, June 30, 2024.


NDLEA confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Dadda Albert from Suriname, was found with 117 parcels of cocaine concealed inside large latex condoms, factory packed into 100ml bottles of body spray. Albert claimed to have left Suriname on April 2, traveled via Sao Paulo, Brazil, and arrived in Nigeria on April 7, 2023, aboard a Qatar Airways flight, all in his pursuit to reconnect with his long-lost Nigerian father, whom he referred to as ‘Omini.’


"The suspect claimed he departed his country, Suriname, located on the northeastern coast of South America, on April 2 for Sao Paulo, Brazil, and from there to Nigeria on Friday, April 7, 2023, aboard a Qatar Airways flight, in search of his long-lost Nigerian father whom he called ‘Omini,'" NDLEA confirmed.
