Adamawa APC Doubles Down on Council Poll Boycott, Takes Legal Action Against ADSIEC

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its decision to boycott the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 13th, 2024, as reported by DAILY POST.

The party's youth wing has escalated its opposition by filing a lawsuit against the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) and the state government, alleging manipulation of the electoral process.

The APC's decision to withdraw from the election follows initial expressions of readiness to participate.

However, concerns about irregularities and perceived bias in the electoral process have led the party to take this drastic step.

A coalition of APC youth groups, under the leadership of Khalil Sajo, issued a communique after a meeting with the party's state leadership, declaring their intention to boycott the elections.

The communique states that the party has filed a lawsuit against the PDP-led state government for "hijacking the local government election process."

The youth wing has cited concerns about the composition of the ADSIEC, highlighting anomalies that they deem unacceptable.

They believe these issues will compromise the fairness and transparency of the elections.
