Insurgency: Sack all appointees in security sector – Rep tells Tinubu

Abdulsamad Dasuki, a member of the House of Representatives, has asked President Bola Tinubu to sack all his appointees in the security sector because they have failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

Dasuki said this during the debate on a motion condemning the recent suicide bombing in Borno State. The motion was sponsored by Ahmed Jaha.

In his remarks, the lawmaker said the President appointed several northerners into the security sector so that they can take care of insecurity in the North, however, they have not been able to do that.

Kano Emirate Tussle: Court adjourns case

A Federal High Court in Kano State has adjourned the hearing of an application for the ongoing Kano Emirate tussle case till Thursday, July 4.

The Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, and the Kano State House of Assembly, through their counsel, Ibrahim Isah-Wangida, filed a motion ex parte on May 27.

The applicants are seeking an order restraining the 15th Emir, Aminu Ado-Bayero, and four other dethroned Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from parading themselves as traditional rulers.

FCCPC raids steel companies in Ogun

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission conducted raids on three steel manufacturing companies in Ogun State due to the alleged production of substandard iron rods and other anti-competition practices.

According to the commission, the affected companies are African Foundries Limited in Ogijo, Monarch Steel Mill Limited in Sagamu, and Kam Steel Integrated Company, also in Sagamu.

Addressing journalists recently, the Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC, Dr Adamu Abdullahi, stated that the commission’s visit was based on intelligence suggesting potential anti-competitive behaviour by these companies.
