Bashir Ahmad Reacts After Shehu Sani Speaks About Atiku Visiting Buhari In Daura

opera.com 4 days ago

Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to a statement made by Senator Shehu Sani regarding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's recent visit to the former President Buhari in Daura.

Sani, in his statement, had suggested that Atiku's visit to Buhari was a strategic move aimed at securing the support of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for his presidential aspirations. He further elaborated, stating that if the visit was merely a Sallah homage, it would be acceptable. However, if it was a calculated move to gain political support, then it would be akin to "treking in the Sahara."

However, Bashir Ahmad has countered Senator Shehu Sani's claims regarding Atiku Abubakar's visit to President Buhari in Daura. Ahmad, in a tweet, stated that Sani himself had paid a Sallah homage to former president Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, to express gratitude for the President's intervention in the crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.

According to Bashir Ahmad, he disclosed in his statement that:

"Sen. Shehu Sani, on Thursday, August 24, 2018, paid Sallah homage to President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, and thanked him for intervening in the crisis facing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State."
