According to Independent Nigeria, The North Central All Progressive Congress (APC) Forum has issued a call to Northerners, particularly leaders who strongly opposed Nyesom Wike's appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to apologize without delay. The forum emphasized that Wike has proven to be a performer and an achiever, dispelling any initial doubts about his capabilities. This call was made during the forum's third quarterly meeting of the year, held in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Monday.

The forum's Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, highlighted Wike's unexpected and impressive reforms in Abuja as a clear demonstration of his effectiveness in the role. He noted that anyone currently in Abuja, passing through the city, or keeping up with the news can witness the significant improvements spearheaded by Wike. These changes, Zazzaga stated, include extensive road construction, infrastructural development, and enhanced security measures aimed at tackling various issues plaguing the capital.

Reports received by the forum suggest that even those who were initially opposed to Wike's appointment have now recognized his performance and efforts in repositioning the city. This shift in perception underscores the tangible impact of Wike's work in transforming Abuja and addressing longstanding challenges. The forum believes that Wike's achievements speak volumes about his dedication and capability as the FCT Minister.

In light of these developments, Zazzaga urged those who had previously opposed Wike's appointment due to regional biases to publicly acknowledge their error and extend an apology. He emphasized that doing so would be the most honorable course of action, as it would recognize Wike's contributions and help foster a more united and cooperative political environment.

He said: “So, if we all agree now that Wike is currently performing and doing well as the FCT Minister, the most honourable thing to do is to openly acknowledge it, and all those who vehemently opposed his appointment as the FCT Minister because he is not from the North should come out openly and apologize to him.
