The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has assured Nigerians that the country will soon experience peace and stability despite current security challenges. He made this promise during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2024 in Abuja.

According to Punch News, Lagbaja stated that the Nigerian army is doing everything possible to provide security across the nation, despite various threats. He called on Nigerians, soldiers, and their families to pray for peace and support the army's efforts.
The COAS noted that the army has made significant progress in counter-insurgency and security operations, restoring relative peace to the northeast and other regions. He pledged that the army will continue to combat threats and ensure peace across the nation.
Lagbaja also congratulated officers and soldiers of the Nigerian army, marking 161 years of the army's existence. He expressed pride in their successes and thanked God for His blessings and victories.
