According to Vanguard, a 36-year-old robbery suspect, Amos Daniel, who absconded with his employer’s car on the same day he resumed duty as a driver, has been arrested by the police in Lagos.

In what appears rather very bizarre, the suspect reportedly took the stolen car to his church to give testimony of God's blessings and miraculous provision.

The Command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin, said this about Daniel’s case during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, yesterday:

“We also have somebody who was employed as a driver. Unfortunately, the employer did not do due diligence. The same day he resumed as a driver, he ran away with the car and could not be traced.

"Interestingly, he dedicated the car in church the following Sunday, testifying of what God had done to him.”

The suspect told journalists that.he stole his female boss Lexus car and took it to church to testify that God had blessed him.

He said he stole the car on June 23, 2024, the first day of his resumption of duty, and took it to church on June 30, 2024.

According to him, he wanted to use the vehicle for transportation business to make money to pay off his debt.
