According to a report by The Nation Nigeria. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has been urged by the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners to act decisively in order to address the annual flooding issues in the nation's capital.

Monday saw a lot of rain fall heavily in Trademore Estate, a suburb of Lugbe in the Federal Capital Territory.

Nathaniel Atebije, the national president of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, stated that the area is subject to flooding during the rainy season due to inadequate drainage infrastructure.

In order to enable and significantly impact implementation, he called on the federal government, all state governments, and the Federal Capital Territory Administration to steadfastly commit to the creation and execution of physical development plans, starting with the highest-order plans and working their way down to the lowest-order plans.

The chief executive does not oversee physical planning; instead, skilled urban and regional planners who are available to support the growth of our beloved country carry out this task.
