"It's A Mind Game" Gen Z's Worrying Message To Ruto After Ordering SRC To Withdraw Salary Increament

President William Ruto has written to the National Treasury, instructing them to review the gazette notice issued by the SRC regarding increased salaries for state officers. In a statement, Ruto emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility, especially in light of the Finance Bill 2024's withdrawal and anticipated financial constraints this year.

The salary increments, which became effective on July 1st, entail higher remuneration for state officers across various branches of government, including the Executive of the National Government, the Senate, the National Assembly, county governments, and independent commissions

In response to the withdrawal of Salary increament, Gen Z's allege that all these actions are merely mind games. Allegations suggest that Members of Parliament and other government officers have heard that Kenyans want their salaries slashed by half. To avoid this, they are purportedly liaising with the SRC to propose salary increments, intending to deceive Kenyans deliberately.

They are now busy hitting tables, saying, "This is unacceptable," but the truth is that these people only care about their own stomachs. Later, they will drop the proposal in the name of 'this is not the right time' or in the name of 'austerity measures', all while aiming to convince Kenyans that they care deeply about them.

Furthermore, they alleged that salaries of government officials will remain unchanged, with no deductions, and that these officers will have beaten us in our own game. The SRC, they argue, is using reverse psychology to manipulate ordinary Kenyan to protect these state officers from the consequences of living within their means. Below are the comments
